Grading Line

Storage & Grading Facilities at Agrico UK Ltd.

Here at Castleton of Eassie we have the capacity to store & grade between 6000 to 8500 tonne per year, of which 2500 can be held in cold storage and the balance being held in ambient storage.

We have a growers group of 13 members whose crops we use to fill the store although we also bring in other crops for grading at the growers request.

The main varieties that we grade here are:- Marfona, Estima, Sante, Maris Peer and Romano.

Our grader is a Dijkstra grader and has the capacity to grade up to 100mts per day.

Investment Programme - August 2006

New Equipment and Building Investment Programme

Construction is curently underway here at Castleton of Eassie of a new insulated store. It's main purpose being for set down space of finished product and an inside loading area.

We will also be installing the following new equipment for the coming season in order to maximise production.

New palletizer and Bagging equipment, this will speed up the packing process and also ensures we comply with current Health and Safety regulations.

August 2007

Agrico continue to invest in cold storage with an extra refrigeration unit increasing cold store capacity by 1400 tonnes. In addition a letter box system for positive ventilation has been built to cure potatoes on intake.
