Lugano
Lugano is an early maincrop yellow flesh processing variety with good resistances to potato cyst nematodes.
It produces large oval long tubers with a yellow flesh colour. Frying quality is good off the field and after long term storage. Lugano is proven to significantly reduce the population of G.Pallida in the soil, whilst producing good yields, even when no nematicide is applied, but at the same time it responds well in conjunction with
nematicide.

Suggested fertiliser treatment
Nitrogen: standard advice.
Phosphate: standard advice.
Potassium: standard advice +20% to influence bruising and harvest damage.
Plant spacing
35/45mm: 25cm (44,500 plants/Ha).
45/55mm: 28cm (39,500 plants/Ha).
Herbicide sensitivity
Metribuzin (Sencorex) can be used.
Fungicides
Maintain a preventative spray program for Foliage Blight.
Storage
Long dormancy and is suitable for long term storage.
